humbroll(http://humbroll.com/119) 님이 OAuth 소식을 알려주셨네요. OAuth와 관련된 라이센스 작업을 수행하고 있다고 합니다. OpenID의 경우 Non-Assertion Agreement 작업에 많은 시간이 소요되었는데, OAuth 도 같은 문제가 있었습니다.

처음에는 못 봤지만, 어느 순간 OAuth 스펙에 라이센스 구문이 추가되었습니다. 대충 읽어보면, 크리에이티브 커먼의 Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 라이센스만 따르면 마음대로 쓸 수 있습니다. 해당 CC 라이센스를 살펴보니, 저자가 명시한 구문을 삽입하고, 완성된 저작물은 원본의 라이센스와 유사하거나 호환되는 라이센스를 사용하기만 하면 됩니다.

OWF은 OAuth와 같은 스펙과 관련된 법적 작업을 계속 수행할 예정입니다. OWF는 자신들의 목적에 맞게 법적인 작업을 잘 처리하고 있네요.

For OAuth,it took (still waiting for one last signature) 2 months to getsignatures from the contributors alone! This does not include the 6months of negotiating the IPR agreement itself. And that's with meactually getting paid as part of my day job to help that process.

OWF가 지저분한 작업(the legal dirty work)을 대신 처리함으로써 데이터 이동성(data portability)은 현실화될 수 있으리라 기대됩니다.

The need forthe Open Web Foundation grew out of the frustration of communities likeOAuth and OpenID having to go through hell to obtain these legalprotections. In the next few months, the Open Web Foundation will offer toolsand help communities avoid this painful process and focus on writinggood specifications, not legal contracts.
